Shelbey Mitchell, lisw-s

(She/Hers)

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (I.1801080-SUPV) with a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Mount Union and a Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University with a focus in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Over the last 7 years I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings including schools, college, outpatient, and the hospital setting. I specialize in working with young adults and college age students.

My clients present with a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, interpersonal concerns, self-esteem concerns, and general stress. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and EMDR when needed to treat presenting mental health concerns. I strive to provide a space that is collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgmental for each client to identify their internal strengths that will allow them to move through life’s current stressors. I believe in an individualistic approach to counseling that allows each client to explore what unique skills they can use to achieve their goals.
